Born into Hip Hop & Reggae soundscapes, Black Panther literature, & Basketball as recreation/life, Lindsee Downer has a cultural background at one of the busiest junctions of Blackness. She uses this extensive knowledge and reference ability, her obsession for organization, and her Strategic Design education to reimagine our world for ALL of us, not just a select few. Her autodidacticism (self-teaching!) and ability to disregard disciplinary bounds are the foundation for her systems-minded approach.
“The Lieutenant” is a modern polymath: a visual communications practitioner working as a stylist, multi-medium designer, and artist; a theorist, researcher and curator on Black/Africana, socialist, and visual & design studies; a systems designer and cultural strategist currently leveraging this skill amongst her other knowledge as a business and design consultant; a DJ and artist growing into her sound; and a basketball player and coach using her knowledge of the game (and beyond) to help players blossom on and off the court.
